I feel like october has just started but let me recommend you some films/tv shows/podcasts and more of what i've consummed lately.
Films
The Outrun, Nora Fingscheidt, 2024
This film really moved me. The visuals were beautiful and the film itself was incredibly well made, creating in us very specific feelings. Saoirse Ronan is so so good and we are just entrapped in the story. I felt like I was travelling far away and it took me to beautiful places.
The film deals with alchoholism problems but the point of view is only the one of the protagonist, which makes us understand and connect with the subject. Anyways, a film about a woman made by a woman is all we need.
You can see it at the cinema right now so go watch it!

You've got mail, Nora Ephron
This film is kind of old but will never get old nonetheless. To me, no modern film can top this type of romcom from the 1990s (yet at least). It has that crispy air autumn vibe, or even winter vibe, it's comforting and just does it's job at putting a smile on romantic people's faces. Funny, witty, touching and heartwarming. If you are searching for a film to watch under your favorite blanket, this is it.
This is also my dream life to be honest.

Series
Nobody wants this, on Netflix
This show is just fun and you can just relax watching it. The cast is perfect, and Adam Brody looks like a grown up Seth Cohen in this. It is not cringey or too heratwrenching, just the right amount of funny, delicate and adorable romance. The chemistry is really good and the whole universe around it is very well developped with the side plot of the siblings, the families, the different lives... I just enjoyed this a lot and though Netlifx did its job on this one.
Podcasts
Modern Love : Andrew Garfield wants to crack open your heart (New York Times podcast)
This is the perfect podcast episode if you want to cry. Andrew Garfield is brilliant and touching, he speaks so well and there is just something beautiful about that. He reads a wonderful essay called 'Learning to measure time in love and loss' by Chris Huntington. He also talks about his upcoming movie, We live in time, in which he stars with Florence Pugh and I can't wait to watch it. Offers you a reflexion on time and getting old, just beautiful.

Music
These days I have been listening practically only to Olivia Dean. Some of her songs are so joyful but at the same time lyrics are sad and so well written and I am here for it. I love her and you should listen to her music. Here are some of my favorites, especially from her latest album, Messy, which came out in 2023. My personal favorite is The Hardest Part.

I have been using this app called Shelf where you can display the books you are reading, the music you listen to the most, the movies or tv shows you're watching... It is very fun. Follow me on there! @cleaars
I am curently reading Funny Story by Emily Henry and it is so fun and such a casual read, love it.
Go check out some of Tina Barney's work if you love Sofia Coppola, this photographer inspired her a lot to make The virgin suicides and does a wonderful work at capturing the essence of families and their relationships!
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!
I will probably try to do this more often because I actually don't really know what to post on here, so if you have any ideas, let me know!
